Living Chi Acupuncture is a modality in Traditional Chinese Medicine where thin needles are inserted into the body at specific anatomic sites (Chinese Medicine Acupuncture points). The Acupuncture needles can be inserted into different locations and applied on many parts of the body. Areas such as the back, neck, shoulders, thighs, calfs, buttockts, neck, face, hands, feet, hips, knees and joints.
What does Chinese Medicine acupuncture do?
Acupuncture promotes the movement of Qi and blood to circulate nourishing the internal organs, muscles, ligaments, joints and bones. Qi is the essence (life force) in the body. The needles stimulate the brain to release peptides to begin the healing process of that particular area that is injured or in pain.

Most Acupuncture needles generally applied are on areas that are hollow spaces (in between the muscles or joints), depending on the practitioner, they may insert the needles into the muscles. The Acupuncture needles stimulates the movement of Qi and Blood through the meridian channels sending information to the spinal cords and brain to release peptides and move blood to the local area.
The colouration around the needle is an indication on the health of that part of the body. The colouration helps practitioners to identify what is happening within the body at different locations. When there is no free flow of blood, there is pain, when there is free flow of blood, there is no pain.

When an acupuncture needle is inserted, they may experience some tingling, or stinging sensations. A dull aching feeling within the muscle is normal after treatment.
The needles will remain in place for 20-40 minutes depending on your comfortability and treatment being provided by the practitioner.
